MHS School Dances
Dance

The following is from the GPS Student Handbook page 10:

Dances

Student I.D.s must be presented at the door. Students not properly identified will not be admitted to the dance. If student(s) are not appropriately dressed, they will be denied admittance. Students who leave a dance will not be readmitted. Students may not loiter near the door or on the grounds during school dances. Students must dance in an appropriate manner. Students who dance inappropriately will be asked to leave and their entrance fee will not be refunded.

Guests are allowed at select high school dances only; e.g. Prom or Homecoming. Guests must have a pass signed in advance by the Activity Administrator. Guests will only be allowed at the administration’s discretion. Guest must be enrolled in grades 9 or higher and may not have reached their 21st birthday. No guests are allowed at Friday night dances. Dance guidelines will be announced prior to the date of the dance.


Dress Code
:
Clothing-  Strapless dresses or dresses with spaghetti straps will be allowed at MHS dances. No cut outs or backless dresses allowed.  Dress length must not be shorter than fingertip length while standing with arms straight down on sides.  No see-through clothing.  No exposed mid drifts or cleavage.  Neck line must not be lower than bust line.  Shirts must remain on and “low riders” or “sagging” pants are not permitted.
Shoes-  Shoes must be worn at all times.
 
Guest Pass Applications:
MHS Guest Pass Applications will be available 2 weeks before a school dance.  They will be available in the school office and on the school website.  Guest's may not be older than 20 and must at least be in 9th grade.  MHS requires a copy of a guest's I.D.. (school I.D. if in high school/ picture I.D. with birthdate if not in high school) attached to the Guest Pass Application before it's approved by an administrator. I.D. is also required for guests upon entry to the dance. 

Guest Pass Applications must be turned in no later than 12:30 on the last day tickets are sold at school.  Guest Pass Applications are not accepted at the door the day of the dance.
 
Tickets:
Tickets will be available for purchase a week before a school dance.  Tickets are sold during school lunch hours in front of the Spirit Store.  Students must present their MHS student I.D. to purchase tickets.  Tickets must be purchased by a MHS student.  Students purchasing tickets for their dates must have the MHS student's I.D. or an approved Guest Pass Application for non MHS student at the time of purchase.  Guest Pass Applications are not accepted to buy tickets at the door on the day of the dance. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable.  
 
Behavior:
All school rules apply at school sponsored events for both students and guests.  Violations may result in disciplinary action and/or removal from the activity.  Students and guests under the influence of drugs, alcohol or any controlled substance will be denied entrance to the activity and are subject to disciplinary action.  Dancing must be appropriate.  No sexually explicit dancing (i.e. freaking, grinding, or dirty dancing).  No dancing which may result in disruption or injury (i.e. slamming or moshing).  Event participants will conduct themselves as ladies and gentlemen.  No re-entry is allowed. If students or guests leave the dance for any reason you may not return
