About Me

I grew up in Boulder, Colorado, but moved to Arizona to attend Arizona State University many years ago and still live in Tempe. I currently teach Economics, A.P. Economics and A.P. Government here at Mesquite. The path to teaching economics and government has been somewhat circuitous for me, as I originally earned degrees in saxophone performance from ASU and Northwestern University. I still perform in a couple of local groups, but feel fortunate to have the opportunity to take part in economic education. In my spare time, I’m currently the Stock Market Game coordinator for the Arizona Council on Economic Education and the Director of Curriculum and Online Programs for the Foundation for Teaching Economics, for whom I also teach graduate level courses.

I am married with no children. My wife is also a high school economics teacher, you can imagine the riveting discussions we have recently had concerning economics (and politics)!
