Proclaiming a destination for post-graduation is a significant milestone for all graduating high school seniors. To honor the diverse paths that seniors are taking after graduation, Mesquite High School's counseling office has introduced an interactive Senior Proclamation map. Mesquite High hosted its 2026 Senior Decision Day event on May 1st. Seniors were recognized for academic achievement and got the opportunity to proclaim their plans after graduation in honor of National Decisions Day.

Several Mesquite High School staff and students were recognized at the GPS Governing Board Meeting on April 28, 2026, for state and national achievements in Girls Basketball.

From across every GPS school and department, 44 employees were recognized as Employee of the Year for their leadership, dedication, and the positive impact they have on our students and staff.

At GPS, students and staff are not defined by data points. Instead, the district aims to connect, create, and care, using data as a tool to support every learner. During the February 10 Board Meeting, district leaders shared evidence of academic growth in literacy, mathematics, science, and advanced coursework, reflecting how educators are working together to make data-informed decisions to support students. As the year continues, this work remains ongoing, with teams across the district focused on building forward and strengthening student success.

At a Special Governing Board meeting on Friday, January 30, 2026, the Governing Board unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. Jared Ryan as the next Superintendent of Gilbert Public Schools, beginning in the 2026/27 school year.
