Students in the Foundations Program:
- Can earn .5 Credit within a Quarter
- Direct Instruction will be provided by Core Content Teachers
- Using Buzz Curriculum - approved by the state to use Instructional Time Model (ITM)
- Elective credits will be acquired through CFS course options

Tier 1 (80 - 90%)
Universal support for all students.
- Lunch Tutoring

- Opportunities for re-test
Tier 2 (5 - 15%)
Targeted support for some students who are at risk.
Pre-slugged Freshman cohort into Survival Courses
Quarter Based Intervention for Freshman
- Intersession
- No Intersession - Elective pulled replaced with Academic Success course
Cat Foundations - Credit Recovery
If student is considered at risk, or is in need of two or more core classes, they will be enrolled in a cat foundations course
Tier 3 (1 - 5%)
Individualized support for the few students with intensive and persistent challenges.
Canyon Valley School - Alternative Campus
If students are not successful within the interventions provided through Tier 1 and 2, they may be considered for placement at Canyon Valley.
Benefits
Credits to be earned
- For courses that are identified as foundation courses, they can earn .5 credit each quarter.
- Students can have no more than two Cat Course in their scheduled day.
- Freshmen and Sophomore students will only be allowed to take one Cat Course at a time.
